My dear Pastor,
I cannot begin to tell you how much this year’s services mean to me! The year of “Prayer” was so special I hardly thought anything could equal that. However, for the first time since my husband and I have been attending Shepherd, he said on the way home, “I really could understand what the preacher was saying tonight. He explained some things that I had never heard before. All the churches I went to as a child just preached ‘hell fire and damnation,’ but none of the preachers ever seemed to understand that there was more to salvation than that!”
We attend the Saturday evening service, and I could hardly wait to get a CD of the message to send to my granddaughter in San Gabriel. She was raised in the Catholic church, but recently told me she has started reading the Bible I gave her. Also, my daughter-in-law attends the Woodland Hills campus, and Sunday morning I tried to call her to tell her NOT to miss this sermon. I got her answering machine, but left the message anyway. She called me later in the day and told me she had gone to church and had heard the message. She was as excited about the theme for this year as my husband and I are.
God has blessed you with such a deep insight into the scriptures. I am so glad that I was led to attend this church. I pray that God will always keep you in his will!
